Through the Marine Resources Initiative, Auspatious is working alongside Geoscience Australia to deliver Earth observation expertise, practical training, and cloud-based data infrastructure to partner agencies across Southeast Asia. Our role includes capacity development, data processing, hands-on training, and ongoing technical support, building real, lasting capabilities with teams across the region.
We began our contribution by processing coastal and marine datasets for Vietnam and the Philippines, to support marine spatial planning and resource management. This groundwork informed a training workshop we led in the Philippines, where local teams explored Earth observation science and satellite-derived coastal monitoring tools and techniques.

We’re also working closely with the national Geospatial Information Agency in Indonesia, Badan Informasi Geospasial (BIG). In Bogor, we supported a Coastal Earth Observation Science workshop, where participants explored satellite-based coastal monitoring methods using Digital Earth products. A follow-on workshop in Sydney deepened the BIG team’s skills in large-scale data processing using the cloud.

This work provides Auspatious with an opportunity to share knowledge and technical expertise while supporting the team to deliver their own analysis using a Digital Earth platform that they maintain and use. The team was previously constrained in the scale of analyses they could run and now they have the capability to run national-scale analyses and support broader coastal and marine decision-making.
